A small peak into Dario Sattui’s Monastery in Sinalunga Italy.
In 1991 I purchased this late 10th century monastery in the Commune (County) of Sinalunga in Tuscany which I’ve recently restored. My love of medieval architecture and history inspired me to purchase the monastery which was run down and basically uninhabitable. This monastery was my inspiration for building my second winery, Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga, California, and to a large extent the Castello was patterned after it. My love of the Sinalunga area prompted me to explore its back roads, medieval structures and outlying villages. Without this intense passion for the monastery and the Sinalunga area, it is likely the Castello would have never been built.
I spend a good part of the year here at my monastery and it is my pleasure to offer for rent during select times of the year. Please contact Irina Yartseva at 510-432-3520.
I hope you enjoy the video.
